Just keep swimming! - Mon 7/30/2018, 3:44 PM

A picture one of the young men in our ward took of me.

Dear friends and family,
This week was a really good week. We had a lot of really cool chances to find new people to teach and just go about doing good.
We were making some contacts in the street and we found a lot of people. Not a ton of them accepted appointments, but they said that we could come back and teach them at a later date.
One of the experiences was really cool. The person with whom we were talking to didn't seem that interested, but I felt a really strong impression to just start talking about the Restoration. I bore my testimony to him that the Church of Jesus Christ had been lost, but that because God loves us, He has called a prophet again to lead us in these last days. His eyes kind of lit up a little, and he accepted one of the pass along cards that we had and told us that he was going to visit Mormon. org.
It was an amazing experience to see that God does love His children and prepares a path so that they can hear the truth. And He lets them decide if they want to accpet it.
I love the Church of Christ and I know that it is true.
Love,
Elder DuBose

Oro - Mon 7/23/2018, 3:47 PM

An elder in our district had his birthday, so we bought him a cake.

Dear friends and family,
This was a week full of miracles.
We had been looking for a really long time just trying to find some investigators that are going to progress, and this last week we found some really cool new people to start teaching.
One of them is a golden investigator. We found him looking for someone else, and he accepted a baptismal date and to read the Book of Mormon. He even read and understood the first pamphlet of the Restoration. When we went back with him, we said, "What do you know about prophets?"
And he said, "People choosen by God, like Joseph Smith who translated the golden plates and saw God."
It was a huge blessing.
Being diligent might not be the easiest thing, but you will always be blessed for your diligent work.
I love you guys and know that the church is true!
Love,
Elder DuBose

A little bit of a miracle - Mon 7/16/2018, 4:15 PM

Dear friends and family,
This week, we saw a lot of miracles.
Something that has been really hard for us is finding new investigators that want to progress in this last few weeks, but we had a really cool experience that happened this last week.
We were walking down the street, and I heard someone yell: "Elderes!" Which is weird. Nobody says that. So we turned around and walked back. It was an inactive member and he told us that his son needed a blessing. His son is not a member and was in a crazy motorcycle accident. So we started talking to them, and we gave the son a blessing and found out that his name is from the Book of Mormon, but that he has never really read the book. We gave him a copy of the Book of Mormon so that he could find out a little bit more about his namesake and he said that he would read the book and come to church with us when he can get out of bed.
It was a tender mercy of the Lord.
The Church is true!
Love,
Elder DuBose

Seeing Little Miracles - Mon 7/9/2018, 4:01 PM

Dear friends and family,
This week was kind of slow, but we managed to see a lot of little miracles.
One of them was that our recent convert, m., had his family go out of town and leave him here in San Luis for the week. He got to church early and was dressed in a white shirt in order to pass the sacrament. It was really cool to be able to see that he feels a dedication and a responsibility to help everyone in what he can.
It was a really good week.
I know that the church is true!
Love,
Elder DuBose

Just singing in the rain! - Mon 7/2/2018, 4:30 PM

Elder Perez and yo.

Dear friends and family,
The weather got realy crazy this last week. It started off with just a ton of cloud bursts, and in Saturday, we went to our house to do our language study, and we walked out to go to an appointment. It was nice and sunny for about thirty seconds, and then it started to rain really hard. It was super cool, as in cold, but the investigator didn't have a phone so we decided to go and see him anyway.
So to liven things up I started to sing.... and pray really hard that the investigator would be in his house. And the good news is that he was! We taught him the Resturation and he really understood the Great Apostsy. It was a hughe blessing to have that lesson.
I love the mission and I know that the church is true!
Love,
Elder DuBose

Companionship exchanges

Dear friends and family,
This last week has really just kind of flown by.
Elder Perez and I had a pretty good week. We had some companionship exchanges with our district leader and we got to help them drain the baptismal font.
The pump wasn't working so we did it by hand. I wish I had had my camera. But we got done, and our district leader looks at us and says, "So we learned that the missionary work goes faster when we all work together as a team, right?" Then we went to find some new people to teach.
I love the Church and I love the Gospel.
I know that it is true!
Love,
Elder DuBose
