YES!! - Mon 2/12/2018, 5:06 PM

(I call it "Power Pose")

Dear friends and family,

Today, Elder Lingenbrink and I had a hard time finding a cyber to write all of you guys, but here we are!
We had a really incredible week this week. One of our investigators just keeps getting more and more excited to get baptized, and everything should go pretty smoothly for her this next Friday!
Let me just say how awesome it has been to see that change take place in her. We found her four monthes ago and about a month ago is when the change began to take place. This is the true Gospel, and it will help you change. As our investigator has come to realize that, we began to see a light in her eyes, and her words bacame more sincere.
I just have to tell you all that everything is awesome. The Church is true!
Love,
Elder DuBose

When it suddenly gets warm, then cold, then warm again! - Mon 2/5/2018, 3:50 PM

Some members came by to give us food for our P-day lunch. AWESOME!!!
Dear friends and family,
This last week was kind of awesome! So, the weather here has been kind of crazy lately. This last week, it was freezing, then the next day it was super hot, then freezing, but it all kind of stabled out by the weekend. That was the best! It became much easier to start finding people again when we could find some people outside of there houses.
This week, I've also had the chance to really just kind of study the plan of salvation. It is a wonderful plan, and I know that it is true. This life was not the beginning nor will it be the end. We lived with Our Heavenly Father before this life, and we will live with Him after if we choose to do so. And it is a wonderful thing to know that.
The Church is True!
Love,
Elder DuBose

Transfers came... - Mon 1/29/2018, 4:21 PM

We played pool with the zone leaders

Dear friends and family,
So, transfers came yesterday and Elder Lingenbrink and I will be together for at least one more transfer!! That should be awesome, because one of our investigators told us that she wants to be baptized, and we are working for the date 17 of february. That was kind of a shock for us. We went in to go teach and ended up talking about the Holy Ghost when we had planned to talk about faith. It turns out to be just what we needed to do. We asked her how she felt at church, when she reads the Book of Mormon, and with her family. She then told us that she believes that the Church is the Church of God. We asked her what she needed to do then, and she said something like "Well, I guess I need to get baptized." She didn't have a specific date in mind, so we suggested the 17 of february, and she accepted.
It really just kind of boosted my faith and my testimony that the scriptures really are true. Like the scriptures say, the "22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23) The Church is true, and I know it for I have asked. I have put the Book of Mormon to the test, and know it to be of God. He loves us, and would never lead us astray.
Love you all!
Love,
Elder DuBose
p.s. We played pool with the zone leaders for our last preparation day together. Elder Platt is going to a different area.

AWESOME!! - Mon 1/22/2018, 4:19 PM

Dear friends and family,
This last Sunday was awesome! Lately, we have had a little drought of people that want to come to church with us. That ended yesterday thanks to the marvelous help of the members. Let me start. One of our investigators (Y.) has not been showing very much interest. Mainly just in coming to church consistently. She's come here and there, but the last time that she came was about 3-4 months ago, and everytime we invited here, she just said, "well I guess that we´ll see." That changed this Saturday when we invited a recent convert to come with us to her lesson and explain to her the blessings of church attendance. She got really excited. She didn't give us any excuses and she was ready when we went by to pick her up the next day. Then the members did their best to make her feel welcome. That was the best part. After church, we had a chance to talk to her and asked if she would like to come with us next week. She told us yes!
Something that you tend to take for granted is the power of a friend. Sometimes that is the only thing holding someone back from make a decision that will bless their lives. A good friend at just the right time can make all the difference. And a lot of friends at just the right time can change the world.
Be a friend to all and change the world one person at a time!
Love,
Elder DuBose
p.s. we went to play pool today.
