A few little miracles and a new house - Mon 4/30/2018, 3:39 PM

A Selfie
Dear friends and family,
This week was a pretty busy one. We got word a couple of weeks ago that we needed to start looking for a new house, and this last week we found a really cool one and called the landlord, set up an appiontment, and by Saturday night, everything was all set up.
One of the families that we are teaching also came to church. One of thier kids is about three years old and a little rascal, so I always get kind of worried whenever I think about him in the chapel, but it was really cool to see what happened. The family showed up right after sacrament meeting and their son went straight to the Primary class where he had been last week. He walked in and tried to pull down one of the big chairs that he had sat in the week before, and he walked around really calm for the rest of the time.
It made me start to think of how the Lord can bring that peace into our lives, and as I thought about it, one of the places that I have felt the most peace are in the chapel thinking about the sacrifice that Jesus Christ has made for me. And I can't help but think that God loves us so much that he has given us these short three hours to bring peace to our lives, no matter how hectic they might seem. I began to think about all of the times I had felt stressed out for school work and many other things and just going there and allowing God and His Son Jesus Christ into my heart and how often They have spoken peace to my heart in those three hours every week.
I know that God loves each and everyone of you and He wants us to feel peace.
I know that He lives!
Love you all!
Love,
Elder DuBose

The importance of Faith - Mon 4/23/1018, 4:16 PM

 Dear friends and family,
I don't have a whole lot to share this week, but I would like to share with you guys my testimony of the restored Church and Gospel of Jesus Christ.
This last week we had a lesson that really made me think about why I'm out here and why I've choosen to do the things that I have choosen. And the truth is, I believe it. I believe it with every fiber of my being that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and the only Begotten Son of the Father. I believe the they have always called prophets to help us in times of need and that They always will. I believe that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God called to restore the Chruch of Christ in these last days and that his successor as senior apostle and prophet is Russell M. Nelson. I know that these things are ture, and not just for hearing other people tell me them, but from hearing the subtle voice of the Spirit wisper to my mind and my heart that this is true. I have studied it out, and I invite all of you to do the same.
I know that the Church is true! And I invite you guys to find out for yourselves if these things are true.
I love you guys
Love,
Eder DuBose

What a weird week... - Tue 4/17, 3:52 PM

Dear friends and family,
This was a really cool, although a little strange kind of a week. We found some really good people and a really awesome family came with us to church. And then we had our zone conference yesterday, but we are going to be writing today.
One experience that we had that was really cool this last week was that we found a former investigator that we had been looking for for a few weeks now and we were walking down the street looking for a way to get back to our area after a baptismal interview, and my companion saw some guy in the distance selling snacks. He had like twelve pesos and took them out of his pocket and told me that he was going to buy some chips. We ended up talking to the guy and it turns out that he was this former investigator that we had been looking for. He accepted a return visit and we should be meeting with him sometime this week.
The Lord works in small and simple means to bring great things to pass.
Love,
Elder DuBose

Something cool happened, but I forgot my camera... - Mon 4/9/2018, 3:36 PM

Dear friends and family,
This last week was pretty exciting. We had another baptism, but.... my camera somehow managed to stay in my house. One of the members of the ward told me that he would send the pictures, but I haven't gotten them yet, so well see how that goes.
We also went on some companionship exchanges this last week and that was a really fun. One of our zone leaders was in the MTC with me, so that was fun to talk to him and catch up a little bit. I feel like I learned a lot. Mainly just the importance of having faith and keeping good records of our work.
Elder Young and I were walking, and we hadn't found a single new investigator when we started talking to a lady sweeping her street. After a few minutes, she said, "I had a teacher that was a Mormon. I went to church with her once, and I would really like to learn more." So we started teaching about the Restoration and set up an appointment. It was really cool.
I know that the church is true!

Wow, Did you guys see conference? - Mon 4/2/2018, 3:35 PM

Dear friends and family,
This last weekend was super crazy, right? Of the three General Conferences that I have had in te mission, this one has to be in the top three.
All I really want to tell you guys about was when we got the chance to sustain President Nelson in the morning session on Saturday. It was really crazy. I have never felt something so strong like that before in my life.
I know that Russell M. Nelson is the prophet of God and the President of the Church of God. God loves us and continues to give us revelation everytime that we need it. I know that God loves us!
It was a pretty normal week, though. Talking to a lot of people, and just trying to find the ones who are ready. We knocked on a door looking for a reference, and a lady answered us, and just said something like, "Do you share the Word of God?" and she gave us her mom as a reference and set up an appointment with us.
God loves each and everyone of us. All He asks us to do is look for Him. As Christ tells us: 7 Ask, and it shall be given unto you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
8 For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened. (3 Nephi 14:7-8, see also Luke 11:9 and Matthew 7:7)
I know that God loves and reveals His will to us through Prophets, and He will reveal the truthfullness of these things to all those who ask, seek, and knock. Finding and receiving an answer from God doesn't come all at once, it requires something of us. A sacrifice of time, strength, and even past beliefs or habits, but I know that it is always worth it. The search is always worth it.
I love you guys!
Love,
Elder DuBose
p.s. no pictures... so here´s one from a while back. I hope it looks good.

A little shakey, but it all worked out! - Mon 3/26/2018, 4:49 PM

Dear friends, family, and everyone in between,
We got a really scary phone call on thursday. My companion was invited to the leadership council in Aguascalentes on Thursday. We had the baptismal interview for Hermana Landeros that same night. He left two hours before the interview and I got to stay with Elder Martinez and Elder Gerhke from the Espanita Ward and make sure that everything ended up alright with the baptism that we had in Saturday. She passed the interview on Thursday, we cleaned the font on Friday, we checked the water and the boiler, and everything seemed to be going perfect.
Then .... Saturday morning, Elder Martinez, Elder Gerhke and I went to fill up the font. There was no water anywhere.  We called the Bishop, the Bishop from espanita, our first counselor, and our ward mission leader. None of them knew what to do. Our ward mission leader called a water truck to come fill up the font,...
Me, filling up the font.
...and we hurried to the bus stacion to pick up Elder Hernandez.
To make a long story short, everything worked out just right, and Hermana Landeros got confirmed the next day.
It was a long road for Hermana Landeros to get baptized, and it might be a little longer before some of her family joins her, but I saw the hand of the Lord working miracles in her life this week, and I know that this isn't the work of men. It is the work of God and no man can stop it. Miracles happen everyday, and I'm so grateful for all of the ones that I have got to see. God lives and loves each of his children. His plan is perfect, and He invites each of us to be a part of it.
I know that is true.
I love you all!
Love,
Elder DuBose
