Well, where do I begin... Monday April 24, 2017, 3:31 PM

Dear family and friends,

Elder Boyer and I didn't have a lot to do this week, most of our investigators couldn't meet with us. So, we went tracting! For hours! and days! And, we found a few people that didn't want to meet with us.

Yup, but we did meet with one sister that seems nervous a lot of the time. Hopefully, we can help her find the peace that comes from following our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I know that even though life gets hard, and sometimes you feel like no one is listening, there is Someone who knows. And He can take away your pain and fear, if you will just let Him. And all He asks is that you follow Him. I testify of that, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Love all of you guys!

Love,
Elder DuBose
p.s. I left my camera at the house, but I don't think I had any pictures, so... maybe next week?

My Birthday Package

A belated Christmas Card

Elder Boyer and me on our first Sunday.

(But how luck is that, to have Christmas, my Birthday, and Easter all in the same week!)

Dear friends and family,

This week was a little slow. So, it was (as far as I can tell) Spring Break, and on top of that, the week of the Passover. So, everyone was either out of town, had family over for the whole week and didn't have the time to talk to us, or was busy being Catholic for the Holy Week and just didn't really want to listen to another religion. Yet, I managed to learn a lot.

That is one really awesome thing about having an american companion. There has been a ton more people talking to us, so ... yeah. (If only they hadn't been busy) Sure, my accent hasn't gotten better (but it hasn't gotten worse), but I have learned a ton of new words, and how to study a lot better during language study time. It has been an awesome week.

I hope you all had a good Easter Sunday! I just want to tell you all that I know that He lives. The tomb is empty, and He is alive. He lived, He died, but, most importanly, he rose again on the third day.

I love you guys.

Love,
Elder DuBose

Hello, Bishop, this is my new companion... Mon April 10, 2017 4:48 PM

Elder DuBose, Elder Can and Elder Boyer

Dear friends, family, and the guys at the CIA that constantly monitor everyone´s e-mails,

So, we got the call last night that, since I've just finished my training, we would be having transfers. Elder Can has been moved to the state of Aguascalientes to the same ward he was in for a year as the secretary of the mission. This was his prayer for who knows how long (he really loves that ward. Like a ton) and it just testifies (mainly because he said nothing about that to the mission president) that someone really does hear and answer your prayers. I'm still in the Barrio Oriente and my new companion is Elder Boyer, another six foot tall American from Utah. And all the girlies say we're pretty fly for some white guys (and if you get that reference, I'm sorry but I had too.)

But anyway, before we got that call, Elder Can and I had a baptism! It was awesome, but I unfortunately don't have any pictures of that, yet. Elder Can said he would send them to me the minute he gets the chance. Look for those next week. But that was awesome. There is a power that God has over you, a change that will take place, if you'll let him into your heart. I saw it really strongly this week with Eduardro, and it's kind of hard to describe, but you know it when you feel it.

Love you guys tons, and can't wait to see you next week.

Love,
Elder DuBose

I hope you all saw General Conference this weekend - Mon April 3,2017 4:30 PM

and could maybe tell me what happened...

Dear friends and family,

Just kidding. I think I understood most of what happened. (Though I might have fallen asleep for one or two talks...)

Really, though. That was an awesome conference, wasn't it? The best part was definately seeing and hearing the testimony of President Thomas S. Monson of the Book of Mormon. That was one of the most heart warming things I've seen in a long time. It was so beautiful. And we had an investigator with us when he gave it. I know for sure that our investigator felt the Spirit during that time (mainly because he still wants to get baptized!)

We had a lot of training this week, and I learned a lot of stuff. Really this work is awesome.

I'll also be finishing my in-field training this week, so that means I could get transfered next Monday. So, if you don't hear from me next Monday, you'll hear from me this tuesday or wednesday.

I love you guys, and I know God loves you guys too.

Love,
Elder DuBose.
p.s. we saw a muesem of masks this week. Here are the pics

A fiesta to help us.- Mon March 27,2017 5:25 PM

Dear friends and family,

This week was just a blast! So, we have a lot of trouble trying to get the members to help us out with our lessons and finding references (which really slows down the work that we can do) so Elder Can had this idea, what if we made a video with all of the ex-missionaries, and played some games, and sang some songs, and made them some food. Well, it was a lot of work, but I think it's going to pay off. Already, we have seen the members open up to us a lot more. And the youth don't look to awkward when we ask them if they can help us this week. And most of them say yes.

So, we have had a few of the members come with us to lessons already, and the difference is huge! They know scriptures we don't, help our investigators feel comfortable, and have these awesome stories. So, basically what I'm trying to get at is, help the elders in your areas, if you can. The work of God will move on without you, but it moves so much faster with you.

I love you guys so much.

Love,
Elder DuBose

And Mexico too!

To my dear friends and family,

This was a busy week this week. Elder Can and I have been preparing a ward activity to see if we can get some more of the members to help us out with our proselyting more, so that's been fun.

But guess what else, this week was my birthday, and most of the young men didn't have school today, so we had a party with cake and games for most of P-day today. What more could a blessed guy like me ask for?

I just want to share my testimony with you guys really quick. I know this is true. This true I represent everyday to the people of mexico is the restored church of Jesus Christ. God loves and knows each and everyone of us individually. I bear testimony of that,In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Love,
Elder DuBose

p.s. Had some fun intercambios this week,

learned some wise stuff from a bag of chips,

and celebrated my birthday by getting confetti thrown in my face.
